Kunteng KT 50A E-Bike Controller

The Kunteng KT-50A is an 18-MOSFET brushless e-bike controller designed
for compatible KT control systems and high-power electric bicycle builds.
Different voltage and wave-type versions are available, so choosing the
correct controller is important before installation.

Do not choose a controller only by motor wattage or connector appearance.
Battery voltage, controller current, motor phase/Hall wiring, display communication
and accessory connectors must all match your system.

Choose Your KT-50A Controller

Version Choose This If…
48V 50A Square Wave Your system uses a compatible 48V battery and you need the square-wave KT-50A version.
48V 50A Sine Wave Your system uses a compatible 48V battery and you specifically require the sine-wave KT-50A version.
56–90V 50A Square Wave Your existing controller and battery system match the higher-voltage KT-50A specification.
Check the original controller label before ordering.

Important: the selected voltage and controller type must match your
actual electrical system. If you are replacing an existing controller,
compare the original controller label first.

Square Wave vs Sine Wave – What Is the Difference?

Square Wave A straightforward KT controller option and typically the lower-cost choice.
Choose it when replacing a compatible square-wave controller.
Sine Wave Designed for smoother and quieter motor operation in a compatible KT system.
Choose it when your setup specifically requires the sine-wave version.

The housings and connectors of different KT controller versions can look very
similar. Always check the controller label and selected variation instead of
identifying the controller only by appearance.

Before You Order – Check These 6 Items

1. Battery Voltage Match the controller version to your battery system.
2. Battery / BMS Current Make sure the battery and BMS can safely support the controller’s current demand.
3. Motor Phase Wires Compare the three motor phase-wire connections with your existing system.
4. Motor Hall Connector Check the Hall/sensor plug shape and wiring configuration.
5. KT Display Use a compatible KT-series display and matching communication system.
6. Accessory Plugs Check throttle, e-brake and PAS connectors before ordering.

Important: 50A Maximum vs 25A Rated Current

The KT-50A specification lists a maximum current of 50±1A
and a rated current of 25A.

These are different specifications. Do not assume that the “50A” model name
means every component in the system should continuously operate at 50A.
The battery, BMS, motor and wiring must all be suitable for the complete setup.

Will This KT-50A Work With My Motor?

Motor wattage alone cannot confirm controller compatibility.
For example, two motors sold as “3000W” can still use different Hall connectors,
phase wiring, battery voltages or control systems.

If you are replacing an existing controller, the best reference is your original
controller label and connector layout.

KT Display Compatibility

The KT-50A is intended for compatible KT-series control systems.
A display with a similar-looking connector is not automatically compatible.
Communication protocol and wiring must also match.

If you already use a KT controller and KT display, compare the original wiring
before ordering a replacement.

Connector Compatibility

KT controllers can be supplied with different wiring and connector configurations.
Do not order only by voltage or current.

Check the motor phase wires, Hall connector, display, throttle, e-brake and PAS
connections against the selected controller version.

Need help checking compatibility?
Send us clear photos of:

  • Your original controller label
  • Motor connector and Hall plug
  • Display connector
  • Throttle connector
  • Brake connectors
  • PAS connector

A front-facing photo of each connector is especially useful for comparing the plugs.

Installation Notes

  • Disconnect the battery before connecting or removing the controller.
  • Confirm battery polarity before connecting the main power wires.
  • Never force a connector that does not align correctly.
  • Secure the controller where it has suitable airflow and protection from impact.
  • Check every connector before applying full battery power.
  • After installation, test the system carefully at low load before normal riding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the KT-50A a 50A continuous controller?

The listed specification is 50±1A maximum current and 25A rated current.
Do not treat these two figures as the same operating specification.

Can I use the KT-50A with any 3000W motor?

No. Motor power alone does not confirm compatibility.
Battery voltage, current capability, motor phase/Hall wiring and the complete
control system must also match.

Can I connect any LCD display with the same plug?

No. Similar connector appearance does not guarantee the same communication
protocol or pin configuration. Use a compatible KT display system.

Which version should I buy?

Start by checking your battery voltage and original controller label.
Then match the required square-wave or sine-wave controller version and compare
all connectors before ordering.

What if I am not sure which controller I need?

Send us photos of your original controller label and all major connectors before
ordering. We can help you compare the configuration and reduce the risk of buying
the wrong controller.
